After the
resounding success of REBOUND 2023 and 2024, Live Slow Ride Fast (LSRF) and
Shimano are once again inviting the global gravel community to ride out on May 31,
2025, during REBOUND 2025. Riders are encouraged to build a do-it-yourself
gravel route of 15, 25, 50, 100 or 200 miles (24, 40, 80, 160 or 320 km),
starting from their doorstep, with the overall aim of showcasing the strong
community of gravel cyclists riding over 5 million miles ridden around the
globe.
REBOUND was
conceived by former pro-cyclist Laurens ten Dam and his LSRF team from the
Netherlands. The idea is simple: one day, all across the world, riders can head
out and enjoy the world around them, with a suggested start of 6:00 AM local time, coinciding with the
UNBOUND Gravel event in Kansas.
The annual event is the biggest
gravel ride in the world, removing borders and uniting riders in the unique and
inclusive spirit of gravel. There
are no entry fees or time limits, but the team at LSRF and Shimano want
to see people riding as well as enjoying their post-ride celebrations on
socials. This year, the hashtags will be #REBOUND2025 and #UnitedInGravel.
The 2024 REBOUND
event saw a remarkable turnout with a total of 361,110 participants who
collectively covered 3,849,684 miles (6,195,467 kilometers) and spent 275,222
hours in motion. The top participating countries in the 2024 REBOUND event were
led by the United States with an impressive 42,353 riders. The United Kingdom
followed closely with 33,632 participants, and Brazil came in third with
32,410. Germany (29,519) and France (26,105) also had strong showings. Spain
contributed 19,028 riders, while Italy had 16,175.
Other top
contributors included the Netherlands (11,296), Canada (10,368), and Belgium
(9,884), rounding out the top ten nations by participant count.
STRAVA CHALLENGE AND STRAVA ROUTE BUILDER
REBOUND 2025 has already attracted 123,500 participants to the REBOUND STRAVA Challenge. This initiative invites gravel cyclists worldwide to log their rides, win prizes and connect through shared experiences, while STRAVA’s route-building tools help enhance their adventures.
For those looking to explore new gravel routes or refine an existing idea, the STRAVA Route Builder offers a powerful solution. Leveraging anonymous user data, the tool provides intelligent route suggestions tailored to individual preferences, highlighting popular paths, community-recommended points of interest, and key waypoints. Features like 3D maps and interactive planning options make it easy to visualize and customize off-road adventures.
