Knog announces a voluntary product recall on early production runs of its front bicycle lights, the Blinder 900 and Blinder 1300 (and their German-specific STVZO models Blinder 80 and Blinder 120), due to potential battery issues that can cause overheating and therefore pose a fire and burn hazard.

“Here at Knog, we pride ourselves on being experts in safety, and customer safety is our absolute top priority. While we understand that a product recall is never ideal, we want to proactively reach out to the market to prevent any additional product failures moving forward,” said Mal McKechnie, Knog’s Chief Operating Officer.

Customers who own Blinder 900 and Blinder 1300 lights (or the German-specific STVZO models Blinder 80 and Blinder 120) are asked to check their batch code via Knog’s Product Recall Portal to determine whether their batteries are defective. Owners of defective units are urged to stop using and are eligible for a replacement once they file a claim.

Knog has created a designated landing page for customers to learn more about the product recall and to verify their product batch code: https://www.knog.com/recall
