SHIMANO expands its GRX gravel component lineup with new chainring sizes and shorter crank arm length options. The additions include new 44-tooth and 46-tooth chainrings, as well as 165 mm and 160 mm crank arm lengths, giving riders more ways to fine-tune their gravel bike for speed, comfort, and efficiency.

Gravel riding encompasses everything from high-speed racing to long, self-supported adventures, and SHIMANO GRX continues to evolve to meet those diverse demands. The latest GRX options are designed to help riders optimize their setups based on terrain, riding style, and individual fit preferences, all without compromise.

Expanded Chainring Options for Faster Gravel

The new 44T and 46T GRX chainrings join existing 40T and 42T offerings, providing taller gearing options for riders who regularly ride flatter terrain or prioritize top-end speed in race-oriented gravel events. Larger chainrings allow riders to maintain higher speeds more efficiently, while reducing chain articulation and friction. The new chainrings are fully compatible with existing GRX cranksets, including 1x and 2x configurations across both 600- and 800-series GRX groups.

Shorter Crank Arms for Fit, Comfort, and Efficiency

SHIMANO is also introducing 165 mm and 160 mm crank arm lengths to the GRX RX810 lineup, expanding fit options alongside existing 170 mm, 172.5 mm, and 175 mm lengths. Shorter crank arms can help riders achieve a more efficient pedalling motion, support higher cadences, and reduce joint strain, particularly during long, sustained gravel efforts.
