Riders who want to go the distance on pavement as well as off the beaten path have a new gravel tyre option, Maxxis’ semi-slick Receptor.

The new Receptor sports a 120 TPI tubeless-ready casing for a comfortable ride and achieves an ideal balance between rolling resistance and traction via its dual-compound rubber. While designed mostly for smooth terrain, this tire is ready for unplanned gravel detours thanks to the Maxxis EXO Protection layer built into the sidewalls.

“The Receptor is a great option for riders who don’t want to choose between our high-volume Velocita slick and the knobbier Rambler,” said Aaron Chamberlain, Maxxis’ bicycle marketing manager.
