You will be an integral member of the brand and marketing team, responsible for much of our consumer-facing communications, on the front line for our brands. You will be expected to consistently deliver high-quality content to our thousands of fans and assist with digital strategies across many of our brands, including social media, email, website stories and content creation.
A working knowledge of social media and online marketing is essential. An enthusiasm for bikes is ideal but a passion for sports and the great outdoors is also extremely important. We are looking for someone who is as excited by our brands and products as we are and who can convey that to our fans and end consumers. Most of all you’ll need to be a team player and come to work with the attitude of someone who wants to do their best every day.
Essential skills:
Working knowledge of social and digital media
Ability to analyse social media performance and present to management team
Good level of written English
A passion for digital marketing
Some experience of working with brands on digital campaigns
A good level of experience with Adobe Photoshop or InDesign
Some experience working with website or blogs (even if your own)
Ability to work with others – some experience of working in a team
Desirable skills:
A University Degree (2:2 and above) – would not have to be marketing specific
Photography or videography experience – content creation
Excel experience – ability to extract and analyse data
Any cycling experience
Primary Job Responsibilities
Social Media:
You will be responsible for managing, updating and scheduling content every day across multiple social media channels including Shimano, Genesis Bikes, Madison and more
You must reply to all customer queries in a timely manner, working with customer care, warranty and brand teams to help end consumers and give them a positive impression of our brands
You will be expected to assist with content creation
A working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop or InDesign is extremely desirable
At times you will be required to attend events to document activity and produce on-site content e.g. Facebook Live, Instagram Stories
Work alongside the wider marketing and brand team to ensure that key stories are being communicated at the right times
Prepare content in advance of major product launches
You must also suggest online activity and work with your line manager to make it happen. We require varying and fresh content to keep fans engaged. Competitions, data capture
Attention to detail is very important – we pride our channels on making very few, if any, mistakes when it comes to grammar, spelling and image errors
Email:
Using MailChimp and Dotdigital you will be expected to create and send out emails to our dealers and end consumers
You must manage all of our email lists and also continually make efforts to grow them
You will be asked by brand teams and the senior management teams to create emails – these can sometimes be with short notice
You must also be proactive and suggest email content and ideas to your line manager
Websites:
You will be required to upload news stories, press releases and blog articles to Madison B2B, Madison.co.uk, Freewheel.co.uk and the bike brand websites
A working knowledge of content management systems is ideal but this can be taught.
You must have a good level of grammar and spelling as you will be required to write copy for websites and email but work with your line manager to ensure quality is high
