Talon launches new extended swingarm

Talon is extremely excited to announce its all-new KTM SX50 Extended Swingarm. Designed to be longer to accept Talon’s bigger wheels, it is a solid performance upgrade without adding unnecessary weight while being optimised for strength and rigidity. Primarily designed for younger riders between 20-40kg, the new swingarm is remarkably light, looks factory (the most crucial part) and utilises OEM KTM Group parts such as shock bolt, chain slider and chain guide to ease the sourcing of new parts when required.

At just 1,848g it’s well over half a kilogram lighter (673g for anyone counting) than the current market leader and can be adjusted between 425mm (pivot to axle centre) at its shortest and 450mm at its longest. Made from CNC machined 6082-T6 alloy, the swingarm also greatly improves compliance, giving a more confidence-inspiring ‘plush’ feel meaning youngsters can push to their limits harder through rough sections and have better control during landings.

The reduced mass of the swingarm also means that due to a reduction in un-sprung mass the suspension and rear wheel assembly can accelerate far faster while keeping the rear wheel tracking the ground at higher speeds.  As a result, the bike is less likely to bounce and become unsteady with rapid movement. On top of that, since the shock sees less force it won’t be as prone to overheating and that means damping won’t suffer in longer races as much as with a heavier swingarm.

The KTM SX50 Extended Swingarm will be available from £1,095 RRP from all Madison dealers, and stock is already available and ready to ship.
