"A great autumn-through-to-Spring shoe that you can wear anywhere on and off the bike."
Despite the slightly 'leisurey' look to these shoes, the MT7ls a fully-featured outdoor shoe. There's a full Goretex membrane, with bellows tongue, to keep water out, a tough Nubuck and rubber outer and 'rambler approved' Vibram outer sole. No toe studs, but a good, chunky sole for grip. Closure is by regular laces with a single lace keeper Velcro strap over the cop. Our sample size 44s came up a little small, but they fit a size 43 with a thick, wintery sock.
ln use, they were definitely stiff enough for extended pedals, provided time was taken to cinch the laces tight. Off the bike they offered great grip on rock, roots, and office carpet and pub floors. They're fully waterproof enough to allow standing around in puddles and walking through bog, though the low cut allows the odd splash and gravel lump in.
Overall: A great autumn-through-to-Spring shoe that you can wear anywhere on and off the bike. Check the size before you buy because they'll be with you for a long time.
