Four years after its last introduction, Shimano developed a completely new Deore mountainbike groupset. Deore is a rider tuned groupset that fits various bikes and riding styles. Whether it is for a cross country or a trail ride on a hard tail, big wheel or full suspension bike, Deore has the right set of options. Compared to the previous model (M-590) Deore has more gearing options, adopted technologies. From XT for example, new Deore benefits from more braking power, control and Shimano’s new Dyna-Sys compact triple crankset. Drivetrain Deore’s drivetrain is improved with a full line up of new specifications. It combines adopted technologies from ‘big brothers’ XT and SLX. Shadow RD+ for more control and a silent drivetrain. RD direct mount for more stiffness and stability. Deore is available in several new gearing options including a double crankset. Together with Shimano’s new technology Dyna-Sys compact triple crankset for bigger wheel sizes like 27,5”and 29”, Deore has an all-round and competitive drivetrain. Brake system Acceleration is one thing, but stopping power is just as important. Deore has stepped things up to provide both cross country and trail mountain bike riders with suitable braking power. Shimano improved the balance between power and control, and if a rider feels that it is not enough, Deore is compatible with Shimano’s Ice Technology rotors and brake pads. To handle all this power Deore has a short stroke Servo Wave mechanism and a 2-finger ergonomic brake lever. Hub system Deore’s hubs provide an improved torque rotation. This results in a smooth and light rotation for better efficiency. Besides the regular quick release hubs Deore has new 15mm E-Thru front and 12mm E-tru rear hubs for several riding styles. Easy maintenance Typical Deore riders require a durable and easy maintenance groupset. Deore meets these needs by providing easy bleeding for the brake system and cup and cone bearings of the hubs.
