The birth of Zardoz NOTwax can be solely attributed to one man, Paul Ramer. Paul was an avid backcountry skier, mountaineer and inventor infamous for his passion for ingenuity. Somewhere in garages and attics all across Colorado are prototypes of avalanche beacons, telescoping ski poles, bullet proof binding systems and specialty backcountry boots.
 
Ramer was rumored to have said that Zardoz NOTwax was going  to write his “rags-to-blue jeans” story. During the rise of NOTwax, Ramer was, and still is, referred to as “the mad scientist dude.” His recognizable appearance and zest for life were infectious.
 
Tragically, he never got to see the end of the story as he was diagnosed with Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease and passed away in March of 2000 at the age of 56. Still, his spirit lives on in his final discovery of Zardoz NOTwax.
 
NOTwax is a highly versatile base treatment and can be used on top of wax or instead of wax. NOTwax works well on its own. Traditional hot wax works well on its own. Our testers (which include many racers and competitors) have learned that when used together, NOTwax can enhance the performance of traditional wax.
